WESTERN COLORADO GOING INTO THE WEEK |Â 2025 STATS
- Western Colorado comes into the season with a tough 1–17 overall record and 0–8 in RMAC play, reflecting the challenge they face week to week.
- Offensively, the Mountaineers total 592 kills on 2,013 attempts, generating a hitting percentage of just .110, while opponents have broken them down with 785 kills on 1,922 swings (hitting .256). They average 9.9 kills per set to their opponents' 13.1.
- On the setting side, Western Colorado records 546 assists (9.1 per set), and their side out errors and ball handling issues show in small margins (ball handling errors average 2 per set).
- At the service line, they have 76 aces versus 121 service errors — a precarious balance that often undermines momentum. In reception, they commit 118 reception errors, or about 2.0 errors per set, versus opponents' 1.3 per set.
- Defensively, the Mountaineers collect 684 digs (11.4 per set), but their opponents average 14.3 digs per set, revealing a gap in back-row coverage.
- At the net, they combine for 101 blocks (1.7 per set) against 112 from their opponents (1.9 per set), indicating slight disadvantage in blocking battles.
- Individually, Olive Rolseth leads the team with 154 kills (2.61 per set) on 519 swings (98 errors) and contributes modest service and assist numbers.
- Kyra Kidd adds 99 kills (1.65 per set) while also contributing in serve and attack.
- Defensively, Galatia Andrew is active, though her offensive production is limited — she is part of the rotation in digs and serve reception.
- Looking ahead, the Mountaineers' greatest chances lie in minimizing unforced errors, tightening service and reception, and attempting to disrupt offenses with strategic serving and block touches.
- Rolseth and Kidd must remain consistent, and the team needs to find ways to generate momentum early, particularly against stronger conference foes.
