WESTERN COLORADO GOING INTO THE WEEK | 2025 STATS
  • The Western Colorado volleyball team heads into its next matchup ready to build on a stretch of encouraging performances and continued progress throughout the 2025 season.
  • While the Mountaineers' record sits at 1–15 overall and 0–6 in RMAC play, the team's energy, growth, and fight have stood out each time they take the floor.
  • Western has pushed several opponents deep into sets, showing flashes of strong execution and the kind of resilience that's beginning to shape a more confident squad.
  • Offensively, the Mountaineers have totaled 535 kills this season, led by standout hitter Olive Rolseth, who continues to pace the team with 140 kills.
  • Rolseth's consistency and leadership on the outside have helped fuel the attack, while Kaira Willits has been steady at the setter position, guiding Western's offense with poise and creativity.
  • Breanna Nohava and Emalie Depew have provided a solid presence at the net, contributing timely blocks and attacking efficiency that give the Mountaineers valuable balance across the front row.
  • Western's defense continues to show effort and improvement, collecting 605 digs and 90 total blocks through the early part of the season.
  • Galatia Andrew has been a spark in the back row, leading the team with 164 digs and anchoring the defense with her quick reads and consistent passing.
  • The Mountaineers' blocking unit has also shown signs of growth, with Nohava and Singleton combining to form an effective wall at the net.
  • From the service line, the Mountaineers have not been afraid to stay aggressive, recording 72 aces as they look to pressure opponents early in rallies.
  • The team's ability to generate momentum from serving runs has helped them compete toe-to-toe with some of the RMAC's toughest opponents, including tight sets against Regis, UCCS, and Westminster.
  • As conference play continues, Western is aiming to turn its hard work into results. The group's chemistry and energy have grown each week under head coach Jennifer Lopez, and the experience gained through a challenging early schedule has the team better prepared for the battles ahead.
  • With Rolseth's steady scoring, Andrew's defense, and the continued development of the young roster, the Mountaineers are trending in the right direction and ready to make a statement in the second half of the 2025 campaign.
