Nash Voted RMAC Player of Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon released its football Player of the Week awards, announcing that Western Colorado's Drew Nash had been voted the league's Offensive Player of the Week.

Nash had a direct hand in fifth-ranked Western's first six touchdowns during its 56-17 win over visiting Black Hills State on Oct. 11 at the Mountaineer Bowl at the Rady Family Sports Complex.

The first five touchdowns were from the arm of Nash, who connected on scoring passes of 51, 7, 60, 36, and 1 yard. He scored the sixth touchdown of the game with his legs, plunging in from 1 yard out to push the Mountaineers' advantage to 42-10.

His 399 yards passing on a 21-of-32 afternoon was the second highest total of his career (405, 11/02/24).

The near-record day through the air pushes his season totals to 1,236 yards with 17 touchdowns. Nash has hit on 64.66 percent of this throws (86-of-133) against just 1 interception, and his season rushing total of 198 rushing yards is second on the team and includes 6 touchdowns.

Nash ranks fifth nationally in NCAA Division II in points responsible for with 140 points, is third in passing efficiency (183.4), and is eighth in touchdown passes.

The Mountaineers will look to push their record to seven wins without a loss in their next game, an RMAC contest at South Dakota Mines on Sat., Oct. 18 at 12 p.m.
