INDIANAPOLISÂ Western Colorado's 17th-ranked Mountaineers will take its varsity 10 to the 45th Annual Midwest Classic, looking to equal or better last season's 18th place at the Classic.
The Mountaineers are 1-2 in duals and 1-0 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition this season.
The Western lineup includes a trio of ranked wrestlers, beginning with
Dean Noble at 149 pounds.
Listed at No. 5 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) rankings, Noble is 5-0 and has yet to need to go the distance in a match. He has recorded two technical fall wins and three pins across his early-season unbeaten streak.
Ranked third by the NWCA at 174 pounds is
Cole Hernandez, who is also unbeaten with a 5-0 record. Hernandez has rung up two tech falls, one pin, and two major decisions. Hernandez finished third in the bracket last season at the Classic.
Cole Gray, No. 8 at 184 pounds, will be wrestling in his first matches of the season.

- The Mountaineers return to action in 2025 with the Western Colorado Open on Jan. 10, followed by the 34th Annual Tracy Borah Duals in the Mountaineer Field House on Jan. 11.
- Western is scheduled to wrestle the University of Findlay (Ohio), Simon Fraser (B.C., Canada) University, and Newberry (S.C.) College at the Duals.
