Durango, Colo., The Western Colorado Volleyball team travels to Fort Lewis College to take on the Skyhawks in an RMAC match up on Tuesday October 15 at 6 PM MT.
The Skyhawks attended the Mountaineer Classic, hosted by Western Colorado, back in September but the two teams did not compete against one another.
WESTERN COLORADO GOING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 STATS
- Western Colorado Volleyball enters this game coming off a road victory against Black Hills State (3-1).
- The Mountaineers placed 13th in the RMAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. They go into the weekend 5-11 overall and 2-3 in conference.
- WCU has a total of 761 kills, 691 assists, 82 aces, 1021 digs, and 83 blocks so far this season.
- Senior setter Nur Turkmenoglu has control on both sides of the ball with 585 total assists (9.29 per set), 48 kills, 21 service aces, 122 digs and 16 total blocks. Senior Seyun Park paves the way with 156 total kills (2.69 per set). Junior Pelin Aksoy is right behind with 130 kills (2.50 per set). Listed third in kills is junior Olive Rolseth with 127 (2.27 per set). A close fourth is senior Kennedy Kelly with 123 total kills (2.05 per set).
- Sophomore Chinaru Inoue is the front runner for digs with 287 (4.56 per set). Right behind her is sophomore Kacee Garcia with 130 digs (2.20 per set). Contributing to the defense is sophomore Kyra Kidd with 42 total blocks.
- Western Colorado played well on both sides of the ball in their previous game and are looking to carry that over into this week's conference match.
FORT LEWIS GOING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 STATS
- The Skyhawks placed ninth in the RMAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. They go into the weekend with an overall record of 6-10 overall and 2-4 in conference.
- Fort Lewis is coming off a road loss to RMAC Pod opponent South Dakota Mines.
- FLC has accumulated 715 total kills, 650 total assists, 74 total aces, 862 total digs and 89 total blocks so far this season.
- Senior Alexis Hobie paces the offense with 141 total kills (3.00 per set). Right with her is fifth year Lauren Shea contributing 131 kills (2.67 per set).
- Senior setter Natalia Lambos has racked up 519 assists (9.11 per set).
- The defense is controlled by freshman Emery Pomroy with 167 digs (3.34 per set) then Lambos with 146 digs (2.56 per set) along with junior Ella Butler who is top in blocks with 25.
