GUNNISON, Colo. Western Colorado swimming & diving dominated visiting Adams State University on Saturday, rolling to a 268-18 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory at the Mountaineers' final home meet of the season in Paul Wright Natatorium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Ashlynn Mixon and Andie Moon took first and second place in the opening event, 1-meter 11 dives, the Mountaineers were on their way to a big RMAC win. Mixon's score of 327.55 was her collegiate personal best, while Moon's score of 260.90 was a lifetime best.
- Morgan Nielsen's first place in the next event, the 1,000-yard freestyle, started the string of swim-event victories for Western. The freshman posted a winning time of 11 minutes, 21.67 seconds, with teammate Emily Jauch finishing third (1335.69.
- The 200 free results were the first of the 1-2-3 sweeps by the Mountaineers. Jordan Maruska battled Misha Little to the pads, touching first with a time of 2:00.83 with Little second in a time of 2:01.78. Sophia Del Rosario was third (2:05.36).
- Maruska would go on to later win a second event, capturing the 500 free (5:36.39) and in between, finished second in the 50 free (25.91).
- Leah Wagner swept the breaststroke events to also earn double-winner status. She won the 100 with a time of 1:08.56, then rolled to a seven-second win in the 200 (2:33.90).
- Also picking up two wins was LynDea Turner, the winner of the 100 backstroke (1:03.14) and the 400 individual medley (4:53.87). Turner also added a second place with her swim in the 200 back (2:17.06).
- Mixon added a second victory during the meet, posting a score of 186.00 in the 1M 6-optionals event.

- Western swept the 400 medley relay wit a 1-2-3 finish, then closed the meet with a first and second in the 400 medley relay.
UP NEXT
- The Mountaineer swimmers will head to Alaska for their next meets, taking on the Nanooks of the University of Alaska Fairbanks in back-to-back dual meets on Jan. 19 and 20 in the Patty Center Pool.
- Diving coach Abe Sala will take Mixon and Moon to Colorado Springs for the Colorado College Classic which runs Jan. 19 and 20Â at the Tigers' Schlessman Natatorium.
