WACO, Texas After defeating Colorado State University Pueblo in their conference opener, Western Colorado football moves up to the No. 19 spot in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NCAA Division II Top 25.
The AFCA Week 3 rankings show the Mountaineers with 194 points, climbing from their previous spot of No. 25 in last weeks rankings. Going into last weekend's match up, the ThunderWolves were ranked No. 22.Western (3-0) added to their dominance with a 30-14 victory over the ThunderWolves to open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Mountaineers are now tasked with another conference foe in Chadron State next Saturday, Sept. 23 at noon.
The Week 3 poll is led by Ferris (Mich.) State with 740 points and 23 first-place votes. The Mountaineers are joined by No. 2 Colorado School of Mines (726 points, 7 first-place votes) in the AFCA NCAA Division II Top 25.
