Loomis, Nash, Wiening Voted to CSC Academic All-America® Team

GREENWOOD, Ind.  College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) on Tuesday announced its 2025 Academic All-America® teams in football, with Mountaineer Ian Loomis voted to the first-team defense and both Drew Nash and Chance Wiening voted to the second-team offense.

Athletics communication directors at NCAA Divisions I, II and III and at NAIA institutions submit nominees for CSC All-District teams, with a CSC committee selecting those from the district team who will be forwarded on to the All-America® ballot. The athletics communication directors then vote for the Academic All-America® Team.

Eight Mountaineers had been named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District® team with Loomis, Nash and Wiening tabbed to advance to the Academic All-America® ballot.

All three nominees had already been named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's All-Academic first team, with Nash earning the RMAC All-Academic Player of the Year on offense.

Nash, a Harlon Hill Award finalist who place seventh in the final voting and a multiple time All-American in both 2024 and 2025, was also the All-RMAC Offensive Player of the Year and first-team quarterback, with Loomis earning first-team All-RMAC defensive honors.

Wiening returns to the CSC Academic All-America Team®, earning first-team honors in 2024.

These are Loomis' and Nash's first CSC Academic All-America Team® honors.
