DENVERÂ The National Football Foundation Colorado Chapter (NFFCC) on Thursday released its 2025 Academic All-Colorado Teams, a list that includes 26 Western Colorado student-athletes on the First Team and 14 more on the Honorable Mention list.
Headlining the Mountaineers earning First Team recognition was NFFCC Scholar-Athlete of the Year finalist
Drew Nash, the NFFCC 2025 Offensive Player of the Year.
Joining the quarterback with first team honors from the offense were offensive lineman
Jacob Naibauer,
Taylor Nichols,
Brayden Skinner and
Chance Wiening; running backs
Isaiah Jones and
Gabe Schubarth; tight end
Daniel Parsek; and wide receivers
DJ Allen Jr. and
Luke Riters.
First-team honors from the defensive side of the line of scrimmage include defensive linemen
Ricky Freymond,
Drew Johnson,
Mikey Smith,
Josiah Switzer and
Jaydon Young; linebackers
Ryan Bynarowicz,
Ian Loomis,
Kade Musser,
Zayne Stam and
Kaden Stewart; and defensive backs
Blayz Del Barrio,
Jordan Glaze,
Blake Nieslanik,
Easton Peterson,
Nate Scharnhorst and
Drea Thompson.
Included on the NFFCC Academic Honorable Mention list from Western were offensive linemen

In all, a record 316 student-athletes earned inclusion on the Academic All-Colorado list, including a record 220 first-team honorees.
Nominees must have been regular performers in any or all three phases of the game, and must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher for first-team status, or between 3.00 and 3.29 for honorable mention inclusion.
