Western Colorado Football 2023 Schedule Adjustment

GUNNISON, Colo.  Mountaineer athletics has announced an adjustment to its 2023 football schedule.

The Saturday, September 16 game against Colorado State University Pueblo, was originally scheduled as a home contest for the Mountaineers but will now be hosted by the ThunderWolves at 2 p.m. in Pueblo. The flip-flop of host for the 2023 contest will result in CSUP traveling to Western Colorado in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

"This change, mutually agreed upon by both institutions, was approved by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference office in recognition of the continuing construction at the Mountaineer Bowl Event Complex and the associated logistical and staffing challenges," explained RMAC Commissioner Chris Graham.

The dates of all games on the 2023 schedule remain unchanged, but the location of the remaining home dates has yet to be determined – on campus at either the Mountaineer Bowl Event Complex or at the Katy O. Rady soccer field.

The 2022 Mountaineer home football schedule took place at Rady field with seating limited to 500 tickets, the majority through online advanced purchasing. Ticketing, via Hometown Ticketing, as well as parking, ingress and egress plans utilized during the season would remain similar if not the same as for that 2022 season should any game in 2023 be hosted at the Rady site.
