WACO, Texas  Western Colorado football has moved up in the national poll two spots to No. 12 in Monday's release of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NCAA Division II Top 25.  The Mountaineers improved to 7-0 on the season, which is the team's best start since 1979. 

The poll shows the Mountaineers with 196 points after a 35-20 win over Black Hills State in Gunnison, Colo., last weekend.  

Colorado School of Mines moved up to No. 1 with 723 points and 28 first-place votes, after a 45-22 win over South Dakota Mines.  

The Mountaineers will host New Mexico Highlands on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m.
