GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Western Colorado will attempt to improve their winning streak to three-games on Saturday (Oct. 1) when they take on Colorado Mesa University at 6 p.m. at Ralph Stocker Stadium.

MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
- Western has been rolling as of late winning their last two games against CSU-Pueblo (17-10) and Chadron State (56-28). With the win the Mountaineers are tied with Black Hills, South Dakota Mines and Colorado School of Mines for first place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings.
- Two games into RMAC competition, Western has the second-best scoring offense averaging 36.5 points per game. While the defense is second-best in points allowed only giving up 19-points per games. Colorado School of Mines is ahead of the Mountaineers in both categories.
- Josh Cummings is second-best in RMAC games rushing for 180-yards and one touchdown. Connor Desch is the fourth-best quarterback throwing for 395-yards and an RMAC leading seven touchdowns. For receivers Malik White is the fourth-best having 149 receiving yards and three touchdowns (tied for second-best).
- On defense, Ethan Sanchez-Maxwell is tied for fourth in tackles with 16 and tied for third in sacks with one. Sanchez-Maxwell is tied for first in interceptions with two in RMAC games. Carson Mandrell also has one sack and is tied for first in forced fumbles with one in RMAC competition.
MAVERICKS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
- Colorado Mesa is currently on a two-game losing streak, having lost to South Dakota Mines (17-31) and Black Hills (28-31). Currently, the Mavericks are tied for last place in the RMAC standings with CSU-Pueblo, Chadron State and Fort Lewis.
- In RMAC competition Colorado Mesa has the eighth-best offense scoring 22.5 points and has the sixth-best defense giving up 31 points a game.
- Jullen Ison is the leading rusher for the Mavericks in RMAC games rushing for 98-yards and one touchdown. Karst Hunter is third in the league in passing with 467-yards and four touchdowns. Leading the team in receiving yards is Keenan Brown who has 129-yards and one touchdown.
- Defensively, Siaosi Finau is the leading tackler for Colorado Mesa tied for fourth with 16 tackles. Kaden Stewart is tied for third in tackles for loss with three and is tied for third in sacks with one. Liban Shongolo and Scrappy Norman are third in pass breakups with two apiece.
