Hall of Fame Weekend
GUNNISON, Colo. Western Colorado will be home for the first time this season - coming off a 17-10 win over CSU-Pueblo – taking on Chadron State College at 1 p.m.
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
- Western Colorado looked like their normal selves this past Saturday (Sep. 17), leading to the Mountaineers defeating CSU-Pueblo 17-10. That win was also Western Colorado first win of the season and moved them to 1-0 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
- In their first game back, Josh Cummings and Deyvon Butler were key in the run game – Cummings rushing for 111-yards and Butler rushing for 63-yards. Connor Desch led the way in the passing game throwing for 130-yards and two touchdowns.
- Malik White was the leading receiver, catching four passes for 59-yards and a touchdown. Andrew Montez also had one touchdown in the game.
- Defensively, Ethan Sanchez-Maxwell had nine tackles (1.5 tackles for loss), one sack and one interception. Carson Mandrell and Jack Anderson each had one sack, while Dominick Fletcher and Anthony Johnston each had 0.5 sack.
EAGLES HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
- Chadron State will look to get back on track this weekend after losing their first three games (Angelo State, Utah Tech and Black Hills State) of the season. Last weekend they lost 23-32 to the Yellow Jackets in opening weekend of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
- Heath Beemiller is the leading passer for the Eagles throwing for 297-yards and seven interceptions. The lone touchdown pass thrown is by backup quarterback Mason Hamilton. In the run game, Jalen Starks is the leading rusher racking up 226-yards and two touchdowns. Beemiller is also a threat on the ground rushing for 175-yards.
- For receivers, Ahlonte Hair is the leading receiver with seven catches for 131-yards. Dorian Collier is the lone receiver with a touchdown on the season.
- Defensively, Ritchie McCormack is the leading tackler with 27 (2.5 tackle for loss). Logan O'Brien has the most sacks with 1.5. Hunter O'connor and McCormack have the only interceptions for the Eagles, each having one apiece.

Western Colorado will be back on the road next week (Sep. 24), traveling to Grand Junction to take on Colorado Mesa at 1 p.m.
