SAN ANGELO, Texas --- The Western Colorado volleyball finishes the weekend 2-2 at the Kathleen Brasfield ASU Invitation. The Mountaineers lost their first two matches on Friday and then won both matches on Saturday.

Texas A&M – Kingsville (L, 25-16, 24-26, 17-25, 25-21, 8-15)
In their first match of the tournament the Mountaineers fought tough against Texas A&M – Kingsville as they took they took it to the fifth set. Winning the first set in a dominate fashion then bring the second set into overtime. At the end of the third set the Mountaineers were down 2-1, but fought to take it to five as they won 25-21 in the fourth. They were unable to close out the fifth set and finished 3-2.

Leading the Mountaineers in kills was
Jordyn Todd with 12 over the five set match. Both
Elizabeth Rupprecht and
Hailee Martinez recorded three aces, Rupprecht also led the team in digs with 22 total.
Alex Galicia recorded 24 assists to lead Western Colorado as
Kat Finnerty led the team in blocks with five.

Angelo State (L, 15-25, 20-25, 13-25)
Going up against the host team of the tournament the Mountaineers could not get the ball rolling. The team lost in three sets, scoring a maximum of 20 points in a single set.

Caroline Parker led the Mountaineers with 12 kills in the three set match, as both
Emily Mangone and
Hailee Martinez each recorded one ace. At the net,
Jaeda Davis-Golliher led the team in blocks with four and
Elizabeth Rupprecht recorded 11 digs. Recording 16 assists for the match was Mountaineer
Alex Galicia.

Northwestern Oklahoma State (W, 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 25-17)
After a tough first day at the Kathleen Brasfield ASU Invitational the Mountaineers came into Saturday in full force as they beat Northwestern Oklahoma State in four sets. The team won the first set by eight points, lost the second by three, won the third by three, the clinched the fourth by eight to earn the victory.

Jordyn Todd and
Caroline Parker each earned 12 kills, with 24 assists coming from
Alex Galicia. Todd also led the team in digs with 29 over the match.
Elizabeth Rupprecht recorded three aces and
Kat Finnerty had three blocks.

East Central (W, 16-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-19)
The Mountaineers went undefeated on Saturday after winning their second match of the day against East Central in a four set match. Western Colorado had a slow start, but then went on two win three sets in a row.

To help her team win in a dominate fashion
Caroline Parker put up 14 kills, with many of those assists coming from
Alex Galicia who had 25 assists in the match. Galicia and
Kaia Ghosh each put up two aces, as
Jaeda Davis-Golliher recorded five blocks. Leading the team in digs was Mountaineer
Jordyn Todd with 19 total.
