LAKEWOOD, Colo. --- Western Colorado falls to Colorado Christian in a three set match (L, 22-25, 20-25, 17-25), to end the Mountaineers four match winning streak and receive their first conference loss of the season.
 
The Mountaineers played tough in the first two sets keeping the Cougars within reach, but were unable to close out the sets. After losing the first two, Western Colorado was unable to overcome the deficit and went 17-25 in the third to give Colorado Christian the victory.
 
Alex Galicia continues to lead the Mountaineers in assists as she recorded 27 assists in the three set match, sending those to six different Mountaineers for kills. Leading the team in kills was Western Colorado's Jaeda Davis-Golliher who recorded nine on the night.
 
At the net, Kat Finnerty, Savanna Meyer and Emily Mangone were each rewarded with one block, with Kaia Ghosh leading the team in digs with eight total.
 
At the service line, Finnerty, Ghosh and Galicia each recorded one ace.
 
The Mountaineers will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 21 as they host their home opener against Fort Lewis College at 6 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.
