Rapid City, S.D. --- Western Colorado comes out victorious in their first RMAC competition of the season as they beat South Dakota Mines on the road Friday night. The Mountaineers won 3-2 (W, 22-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-23, 15-6) after being down 1-2 before winning the last two sets.

The Mountaineers dominated the fifth set 15-6 to close out the match, earning their fourth victory in a row and giving them their first conference victory.

Western Colorado had three women earn over ten kills in the five set match, as
Jordyn Todd led the team with 19 kills, followed by
Kat Finnerty with 16 kills and
Savanna Meyer who recorded 11 kills. Mountaineer
Alex Galicia set a season high of 48 assists to help lead the team to victory.

Galicia and
Elizabeth Rupprecht led Western Colorado in digs as Rupprecht recorded 26 digs with Galicia earning 20 digs throughout the match.

At the net,
Jaeda Davis-Golliher made it tough for the Hardrockers to capitalize as she earned four blocks, with teammates
Kat Finnerty and
Emily Mangone each recording two blocks.

The Mountaineers will be back in action on Saturday at 5 p.m. as they travel to Lakewood, Colo. to face off against Colorado Christian University.
