GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado football team's game at Fort Lewis scheduled for Saturday is canceled due to COVID-19 protocol.

There will be no makeup date for this event. FLC's ticketing office will be giving refunds to those who purchased tickets in advance.

This will be the first time since 1963 the Mountaineers and Skyhawks haven't played each other in a season - a run of 56 consecutive seasons.

The Mountaineers will conclude their spring schedule with their spring game next Saturday.

As for when Western Colorado will play next, it will host Chadron State on Sept. 4 at the Mountaineer Bowl to open its 2021 fall schedule. The complete 2021 schedule can be found here.
