BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Western Colorado's Savanah Tice finished her first of two events at the 2021 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Tice competed in the 100-yard backstroke on Friday at the National meet, as she qualified for the consolation finals after swimming a time of 56.15 seconds to place No. 16 in the prelims.

In the consolation finals, Tice improved on her qualifying time, as she swam 55.75 seconds moving her up to No. 11 overall.

On Saturday,
Savannah Tice will race in the 200-yard backstroke as she enters the event with the fifth fastest seedtime of 1:58.52. Tice clocked that time at the 2021 RMAC Championships to clinch a conference title, along with setting a school record in the process.
