Savannah Tice travels to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado swimming and diving team sends senior Savannah Tice to the 2021 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.

Mountaineer Savannah Tice is scheduled to compete in two events in Birmingham, as she will race in the 100-yard backstroke on Friday and in the 200-yard backstroke on Saturday.

In the 200-yard backstroke, Tice enters the event with the fifth fastest seedtime of 1:58.52. Tice clocked that time at the 2021 RMAC Championships to clinch a conference title, along with setting a school record in the process.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Tice's time of 54.96 gives her the eighth fastest seedtime in the event. Her time of 54.96 seconds also sits as the school record for Western Colorado University, which she also set at the 2021 RMAC Championships as the lead leg of the 400-yard medley relay.

Tice currently holds five school records at Western Colorado University, with two individual records (100 and 200-yard backstroke) and as a part of three relay teams (200 free relay, 400 free relay, 400 medley relay).
