GUNNISON, Colo. --- Western Colorado falls to Colorado Mesa in a three set match (L, 25-23, 25-15, 25-20), to give the Mountaineers just their fourth conference loss of the season.

The Mountaineers played tough taking an early lead with
Elizabeth Rupprecht earning three aces in one series, but despite going down 10-4 the Mavericks bounced back to clinch the first set. They then used that momentum to sweep the Mountaineers and continue their three match winning streak.

At the net,
Kat Finnerty and
Savanna Meyer each recorded three blocks over the three sets. Finnerty was also one of the top scorers for Western Colorado, along with
Emily Mangone and
Jaeda Davis-Golliher as they all recorded eight kills.

Hailee Martinez was on her game as she recorded 28 assists with no errors.

Rupprecht continues to lead the defense as she led the Mountaineers with 10 digs. She also recorded three service aces with
Jordyn Todd and Finnerty each having one.

The Mountaineers will be back in action next Friday and Saturday as they take to the road to face UCCS on Friday at 7 p.m. and CSU Pueblo 4 p.m. on Saturday.
