COLORADO SPRINGS --- Western Colorado comes up short on the road as the Mountain Lions of University of Colorado Colorado Springs took the victory 3-2 (25-21, 19-25, 19-25, 27-25, 15-13).

The Mountaineers played tough and almost clinched it in the fourth set after winning the second and third to take a 2-1 advantage, before UCCS won the fourth in overtime then took the fifth set to win the match.

Jaeda Davis-Golliher led the team in kills as she recorded 13 on the night, followed by
Emily Mangone and
Jordyn Todd who each earned 11 kills. Mangone also led the Mountaineers in digs, as she recorded 20 digs in the match.

Lexi Wilmoth (27 assists) and
Hailee Martinez (22 assists) shared the setting duties over the five set match. Martinez also had three aces as Mangone, Wilmoth and
Kat Finnerty each served one ace.

Finnerty also led the team in blocks yet again, putting up seven blocks on the night.

The Mountaineers will be back in action Saturday at 4 p.m. as they take on CSU Pueblo on the road.
