GUNNISON, Colo. --- Western Colorado volleyball defeated Westminster College to earn their fourth conference win on Friday night as the Mountaineers won 3-1 (W, 25-17, 23-25, 25-21, 25-17).

The Mountaineers started strong, winning the first set in a dominating fashion 25-17, then Westminster came back to win the second set as they tied it up (1-1) with a 25-23 victory. Western Colorado then went on to win the next two sets to close out the match.

The Mountaineer defense held tough as
Kat Finnerty,
Savanna Meyer, and
Jaeda Davis-Golliher each recorded four blocks on the night. Finnerty also led the team in kills with 15 kills, as Meyer recorded 14 kills and
Emily Mangone earned 13 kills.

Leading Western Colorado in digs was Mountaineer
Elizabeth Rupprecht who earned 23 digs over the four set match, with Jordan Todd earning 18 digs and
Hailee Martinez with 15 digs. Todd also served two service aces in the match.

Martinez took care of the setting duties as she recorded an impressive 49 assists.

The Mountaineers will be back in action Saturday night as they host Colorado Mesa at 6 p.m. after the homecoming football game in Paul Wright Gym.
