Gunnison, Colo. --- The Western Colorado volleyball team will travel to Colorado Mesa University to play the Mavericks on Friday Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. in the Brownson Arena. They will then take to the road again to Westminster College to face the Griffins on Saturday Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. in the Behnken Field House.
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE MATCH: SEASON STATS
Western Colorado heads into the match with two wins from the weekend prior against Black Hills State University and South Dakota Mines. Currently at 11-9 overall and 6-6 in the RMAC, Mountaineers hope to bring home another two wins this weekend on the road.
On the season
Jordyn Todd leads the team in kills at 179 kills, averaging 2.32 kills per set. Many of those kills come from the assists of
Alex Galicia and
Hailee Martinez who have 397 and 274 assists a piece. Martinez also leads the team with 17 service aces throughout the season.
Teammate
Elizabeth Rupprecht leads the Mountaineers with 338 digs, averaging 4.33 digs per set. At the net
Kat Finnerty has recorded 90 blocks this season, putting her at just over one block per set. Finnerty was also named the RMAC defensive player of the week for her performance this past weekend.
MAVERICKS HEADING INTO THE MATCH: SEASON STATS
Colorado Mesa heads into this Friday with 15-4 overall and 10-2 in the RMAC. The Mavericks have had a good season and are currently on a seven-win streak, their only two losses coming from No. 1 ranked MSU Denver.
GRIFFINS HEADING INTO THE MATCH: SEASON STATS
The Griffins have had a difficult season with 4-17 overall and 2-10 in the RMAC. They are currently on a two-loss streak after their most recent fall this past weekend to CSU Pueblo and UCCS.
