COLORADO SPRINGS --- Western Colorado's
Kat Finnerty earns Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the week after her dominate performance in week eight of RMAC competition.Â
This is the first time a Western Colorado volleyball player has won RMAC Player of the Week since Nov. 10, 2014 when Allison Walker earned the honor of RMAC Setter of the Week.
Finnerty played a fundamental role for the Mountaineers this past week as the team came away with two victories after beating Black Hills State (W, 3-1) and South Dakota Mines (W, 3-2). She recorded 10 blocks against the Yellow Jackets and nine blocks against the Hardrockers. On top of that, she earned 26 kills between the two matches.Â
The Mountaineers will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 25 as they travel to take on Colorado Mesa University, then play Westminster College on Saturday, Oct. 26.
