Swimming and diving set to dual Colorado Mesa

GUNNISON, Colo. --- Western Colorado Swimming and Diving heads to Grand Junction on Saturday to face off in a head-to-head dual with Colorado Mesa University. The Mountaineers will send their full team to compete in El Pomar Natatorium, with the 16-event contest beginning at 11 a.m.

There is free electronic tickets available for the first 175 fans available online by clicking here. All fans must reserve a ticket online as there will not be any walk-up tickets available.

Face coverings and social distancing will be required for all fans.

Colorado Mesa University asks that you please not enter the stadium if you are experiencing any of the following:
•             A fever or chills
•             Cough
•             Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
•             Sore throat
•             Chills
•             Muscle pain or body aches
•             Lost the sense of taste or smell
•             Fatigue
•             Headache
•             Congestion or runny nose
•             Nausea or vomiting
•             Diarrhea

The Mountaineers head into Colorado Mesa after a dominant performance at the CSU Pueblo Tri Meet. Western Colorado out scored CSU Pueblo 152-117 and out scored Adams State 189-64.

In the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, Colorado Mesa ranks first in the RMAC with 49 points and seven of the eight first place votes as Western Colorado comes in ranked sixth with 23 points.

In the CSU Pueblo Tri Meet the Mountaineers won eight of the 15 events with first place finishes coming from Rachel Ardehali (1-meter dive), Western's 200-yard relay team (Savannah Tice, Adrianna Bese, Sydney Skiles, and Emma Wilke), Sydney Skiles (200-yard IM and 100-yard butterfly), Savannah Tice (50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke), Addison O'Donnell (100-yard freestyle), and Western's 200-yard freestyle relay team (Addison O'Donnell, Taylor Grebe, Emma Wilke, and Kali Stier).

The last time the Mountaineers faced the Mavericks was Jan. 18, 2020 when Colorado Mesa beat Western Colorado 193-97.
