COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- The Western Colorado football program earned a few more accolades Friday as offensive lineman
Andrew Berrier and defensive tackle
Will Lydle were named to the All-National Football Foundation - Colorado Chapter Second Team.
The NFFCC is comprised of all the Colorado collegiate football programs - regardless of level - which includes Adams State, Air Force, Colorado, Colorado Mesa, Colorado School of Mines, CSU-Pueblo, Fort Lewis, Northern Colorado and - of course - Western Colorado.
Berrier, a junior, was the anchor of the WCU offensive line at right guard, helping the team average 113.8 yards per game on the ground. He started every game for the Mountaineers this season and was named to the All-RMAC Second Team as well.
Lydle, a junior, was a force in the middle of the WCU defense, finishing with 56 tackles (12 for a loss - first on the team and 10th in the RMAC) while leading the team and finishing the regular season seventh in the RMAC with 8.5 sacks. Lydle was named All-RMAC First Team and is a nominee for the Cliff Harris Award - which goes to the top small school defensive football player in the nation.
