KEARNEY, Neb. --- Western Colorado's Ruger Wyneken won the UNK Younes Hospitality Open at 184 pounds while six more Mountaineers placed on Saturday at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds.

Wyneken opened his 4-0 run to the title with a 4-1 win over Aryus Jones of Fort Hays State, won a 10-3 decision in the quarterfinals over Trevor Senn of Grand View (Iowa) and won with a major decision 21-7 over Garrett Niel of Air Force. Wyneken in the finals faced Colton Wolfe of Nebraska and used a takedown in the first period, a nearfall in the second period and riding time to win the title 5-2.

The Mountaineers had a trio of wrestlers take fourth in Patrick Allis (125 - Elite Division, 4-2), Tannen Kennedy (149 - Amateur Division, 4-2) and Jimmy LaConte (174 - Elite Division, 3-2) while Nicholas Braswell (133 - Amateur Division, 4-2),  Giovanni Cassioppi (149, 4-2) and Logan Church (285 - Elite Division, 2-3) each took sixth.

The Mountaineers return to action Dec. 5 when they travel to take on Colorado Mesa in an RMAC dual.
