GUNNISON, Colo. – Western Colorado University hosts a home dual against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition for the second time in three weeks when Colorado Mesa University comes to town on Saturday morning. The Mountaineers and the Mavericks will contest a 14 event schedule set for a 10:00 a.m. start at Paul Wright Natatorium.
Two weeks after taking a victory over CSU-Pueblo, 134-84, Western returns to the waters of their home pool. Picked fifth in the RMAC Preseason Poll, the Mountaineers easily outdistanced the sixth-ranked Thunderwolves.
However, Western faces a much stiffer challenge Saturday against nationally-ranked Colorado Mesa University. Currently the Mavericks are the eighth-ranked team in NCAA DII CSCAA Coaches Poll.
