GUNNISON, Colo. – For the second time this week, Western State Colorado University wrestling will face a top-10 ranked opponent. The Mountaineers host No. 10 University of Central Oklahoma this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.
 
The midday matinee against the Bronchos will be free of charge for all Western faculty and staff, and all Mountaineer Athletic Association Corporate Partners.
 
Western (9-3, 3-1 RMAC) enters the weekend after a loss to No. 5 CSU-Pueblo in a dual on the road this past Wednesday.
 
In 19 meetings between the two programs, dating back to the 1972-73 season, Western has defeated UCO just four times. However, the Mountaineers have won the last two-of-three duals against the Bronchos.
 
UCO (12-2, 4-0 MIAA) enters Saturday having won their last six duals.
 
The Bronchos boast the second ranked 125 pounder, Eli Hale; the seventh ranked 149 pounder, Will Steltzen; the 11^th ranked 157 pounder, Bryan Dutton; and the fourth ranked 285 pounder, Caleb Cotter.
 
The Mountaineers have three wrestlers ranked at their respective weights. Trenton Piatt is ranked eighth at 125 pounds, while Brandon Supernaw is fifth at 174 pounds and Konnor Schmidt is also ranked fifth, but at 197 pounds.

Piatt is currently tied for second in the NCAA Division II Awards standings with nine falls against Division II opponents. The leader, Mason Thompson of Central Oklahoma, has 12 pins.
 
A social for Western faculty and staff, and corporate partners will take place outside Paul Wright Gym, near the concessions stand following the conclusion of the dual on Saturday.
