GUNNISON, Colo. – Western State Colorado University is back in Paul Wright Gym Friday night. The No. 17 Mountaineers host Colorado School of Mines at 7 p.m. on Friday for Community Night.
 
During Community Night, each Western wrestler will be introduced with youth wrestlers from the Gunnison Dusters Wrestling Club. A poster signing will then take place following the conclusion of the dual, which is open to all fans.
 
Friday will be the first conference dual of the new year for Western (8-3, 2-0 RMAC). In 11 duals this season, the Mountaineers have won eight, including their only two against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opponents and four against ranked opponents.
 
The Mountaineers are 50-21 all-time against CSM (7-0, 1-0 RMAC), and have won the last 17 dual meetings. The Orediggers have been outscored 151-17 in the last four duals against Western.
 
However, this meeting looks to be much closer as the Orediggers are undefeated through seven duals this season.
 
Kennan Willits is the lone wrestler to be ranked from Mines. Willits is ranked 10^th at 165 pounds.
 
The Mountaineers also have a wrestler ranked at 165 pounds, Ryan Pellow. Unfortunately, Pellow, ranked ninth, will not be wrestling on Friday and will be replaced by Michael Thelen.
 
Western has three other ranked wrestlers projected to start against the Orediggers. Trenton Piatt is ranked 11^th at 125 pounds, while Brandon Supernaw is ranked sixth at 174 pounds and Konnor Schmidt is also ranked sixth, but at 197 pounds.
