GUNNISON, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference dual season begins for Western State Colorado University wrestling this weekend. The Mountaineers travel to Chadron State College and Colorado School of Mines for their conference openers.

Western (4-3, 0-0 RMAC) opens with CSC (4-1, 3-0 RMAC) at 7 p.m. on Friday night. Saturday, the Mountaineers will face CSM (3-4, 0-1 RMAC) at 7 p.m. in Golden, Colorado.

Western is the only RMAC school yet to face a conference opponent this season.

The Mountaineers are coming off a 34-9 win over the University of Mary last weekend at the University of Nebraska Kearney Midwest Duals. Heading into the weekend, Western is ranked seventh in the region.

Western's 125-pound
Ronald Wardleigh enters the weekend ranked second in Region IV. The senior is also second in the nation with 10 falls in 26:06. Wardleigh is just one pin shy of the leader and has accomplished 10 falls in nearly half the time of the leader.

CSC was also at the UNK Midwest Duals last weekend. The Eagles went 2-1, defeating No. 18 Fort Hays State University 32-10 in the final dual of the day.

The Eagles are currently atop the RMAC standings with a perfect 3-0 record heading into the weekend and are currently ranked sixth in the region rankings.

CSM, also at the UNK Midwest Duals, is coming off a 24-12 win over the University of Mary.

The Orediggers are ranked 13
th out of 15 teams in the region and sit in eighth place in the conference standings.
