GREELEY, Colo. - It only took four matches before Western State Colorado University's
Elliot Copeland (Sr., Bennett, Colorado) won the 174-pound title at the University of Northern Colorado Open.
Copeland won two matches by decision, one by a major decision and one by a fall. Two of Copeland's opponents on Saturday were from Division I schools.
At 157 pounds, Western's
Shawn Beiriger (RFr., Del Norte, Colorado) went 3-2, finishing in fourth place. Two of those wins were by way of fall.
Western will continue the season next Saturday at the University of Nebraska - Kearney Open.
