2015 RMAC Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic ReleaseCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Last week, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the 2015 RMAC Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic selections. A total of eight Western State Colorado University women's swimmers were named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll team.
With eight members of their team selected, Western ties for the third most individuals selected to RMAC All-Academic teams in 2015.
Seven of those eight selected were sophomores on the Mountaineer squad during the 2014-15 season.
Danielle Ginsburg (Jr., Reno, Nevada) was the only junior to be selected from Western.
These eight helped the Mountaineers to achieve a team GPA of 3.37 during the fall semester, ranking first in the RMAC. Western women's swimming and diving was also named a 2014 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team.
In just there third season since being reinstated in 2012, Western finished sixth at the RMAC Championships in Grand Junction, Colorado, while breaking 13 school records in the process.
To qualify for Academic All-RMAC, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.30 or better, be a starter or reserve, and have completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution. The student-athlete's cumulative GPA is what they had earned after the fall semester.
