SPEARFISH, SD. The Western Colorado Mountaineers wrapped up their two-game road stint with a statement victory at Black Hills State, sweeping the Yellow Jackets in straight sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Yellow Jackets came out strong in the opening set, jumping out to a four-point lead to start the match. Western answered with a point, but Black Hills State continued its strong start, building an 8-1 advantage. The Mountaineers continued to battle and steadily chipped away at the deficit before making a late push. Western eventually took its first lead of the set at 24-23 before closing out the thrilling opening frame with two straight points to secure a 26-24 victory.
- The second set was controlled by the Mountaineers from start to finish. Western quickly took the lead and never looked back, cruising to a 25-15 victory and taking a 2-0 lead in the match. Andrea Torres led the Mountaineers offensively with a team-high 14 kills, while Maggie Legg added nine kills. Olivia Moore orchestrated the offense with a career-high 34 assists.
- Western carried that momentum into the third set, dominating Black Hills State to complete the sweep with a 25-12 victory. Galatia Andrew anchored the defensive effort with a team-high 13 digs, while Legg and Moore each contributed 11 digs.
- In the middle, Karease Broeker made her presence felt at the net, finishing with a team-high seven blocks, including six block assists and one solo block. Broeker's defensive presence helped keep the Yellow Jackets' offense in check as Western closed out the straight-set victory.
