INDIANAPOLISÂ The NCAA on Wednesday released its second round of the Division II Women's Basketball Regional Rankings, the release this time showing a ranking order rather than alphabetical as with its first release, now placing Western Colorado at No. 10 in the South Central Region.
The Mountaineers sit in fifth place within the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings heading into the final weekend of the regular season. Western (14-10, 12-6 RMAC) plays at Chadron State on Thursday followed by a trip to South Dakota Mines for a Saturday matchup.
A sweep of the weekend road trip could elevate the Mountaineers into the top four of the RMAC standings, providing Western with a first-round home game on March 3 to open the RMAC postseason tournament.
