Canyon, Texas The new era of Mountaineer Volleyball kicks off their season in Canyon, Texas, participating in the Lady Buff Classic on Friday and Saturday, September 5 and 6.
WESTERN COLORADO HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 FINAL STATS
- Sonia Morales-Jones takes the helm of Western Colorado Women's Volleyball, with addition of assistant coach Haley White. From the previous roster, three players look to return to the court accompanied by 13 new mountaineers, six transfers and seven freshmen.
- Of returners, junior Kyra Kidd and senior Olive Rolseth will add some fire to both sides of the ball. Last season, Rolseth was second in kills with 235, contributes 122 digs and had 16 total blocks. Kidd finished with 149 kills, 48 digs and led the team in total blocks with 80.
- Morales-Jones brings five setters to organize the offense: junior Kaira Willits, sophomores Galatia Andrew and Sophia Hernandez and freshman Nina Cowan and Anuhea Ka'alele.
- Western has high expectations for the year including advancement into the RMAC postseason tournament.
TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 FINAL STATS
- The Dustdevlis finished last season with a 9-16 overall record, and a 6-10 mark in conference action.
- The team's top on attack, Mia Molina, returns to lead the team at the net. Molina finished last season with 277 kills.
- Marianna Gamboa returns as a presence on defense as she finished third on the team, in the 2024 season, with 142 digs. Alongside her is Abby Buenrostro who was second on the team in blocks (73).
WEST TEXAS A&M HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 FINAL STATS
- West Texas A&M went 26-5 overall and 16-0 in conference in the 2024 season.
- Returning statistical leaders are Emma Becker with 381 points (3.12 per set) and 343 kills (3.12 per set); Hannah Pemberton with 415 assists (4.94 per set); Kaycee Cavanaugh with 303 digs (2.78 per set); and Taytum Stow 138 total blocks (1.27 per set).
OKLAHOMA BAPTIST HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 FINAL STATS
- Oklahoma Baptisti posted a 16-13 overall record in 2024, including a 10-6 mark in Great American Conference (GAC) action.
- Returning statistical leaders are Rylee Unruh with 333.5 points (3.00 per set) and 280 kills (2.52 per set); Emily Boyer with 1136 assists (10.42 per set); Karsyn hunter with 457 digs (4.04 per set); and Boyer 35 total blocks.
