HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Western Colorado opened the night with energy, as Kyra Kidd and Liv Marshall delivered early kills to keep the Mountaineers right in step with Regis.
  • The set saw several strong rallies and defensive stands from Western, but despite their efforts to close the gap late, Regis managed a late run to edge out the 25–19 win.
  • The Mountaineers responded with a dominant performance, flipping the momentum of the match. Kidd's attacking at the net set the tone, while Emily Robins' serving run, highlighted by a key ace, kept Regis off balance.
  • Western controlled the set from start to finish, storming to a convincing 25–15 victory to even the match at one set apiece.
  • Both teams traded points in a thrilling third frame that featured nine ties. Western showed resilience, refusing to back down and answering each Regis push.
  • The Mountaineers finally pulled away thanks to a pivotal block by Breanna Nohava and clutch swings from Kidd, who continued to anchor the offense. With the momentum firmly on their side, Western secured a 25–18 win and took a 2–1 lead in the match.
  • Regis looked to stay alive and found late momentum, but not before Western kept applying pressure. Olive Rolseth and Marshall sparked the Mountaineer attack with timely kills, keeping the frame tight through the middle stages.
  • Despite Western's push, Regis capitalized on a late surge to claim the 25–16 win and force a decisive fifth set.
  • In the race to 15, Western Colorado came out determined. Kidd hammered down key kills, while Sophia Hernandez delivered a crucial service ace that pushed the Mountaineers into the lead.
  • The final set was a nail-biter, with Western battling point-for-point and pushing Regis to the brink. In the end, the Rangers narrowly escaped 15–12, but the Mountaineers showed fight and fire all the way to the final point.
NET NOTES
  • Western Colorado finished with 44 kills, hitting .168 as a team while adding 9 service aces and 10 total blocks in the five-set battle. Kidd led the way with 12 kills on .435 hitting, adding two aces and six blocks for a team-high 17.5 points.
  • Marshall chipped in nine kills and an ace, while Rolseth tallied seven kills and two blocks. Nohava was efficient with five kills on .400 hitting and contributed four blocks, and Depew added four kills with five block assists.
  • Robins posted six kills and an ace, while Hernandez made her mark from the service line with two aces and six digs. At setter, Kaalele handed out 15 assists with an ace, and Willits also dished out 15 assists while collecting nine digs. Andrew rounded out the effort with four assists, an ace, and nine digs as Western battled Regis point for point to the finish.
