4 Mountaineers Earn CSC All-District Swim Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind.  Western Colorado placed four of its student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) 2024-25 women's swimming and diving All-District® Teams, as announced by CSC Tuesday morning.

The organization released its list of NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA with the Mountaineers' Trinity Caudle, Sophia Del Rosario, Makenna Lambert and Morgan Nielsen included on the NCAA DII list. In addition, both Lambert and Nielsen are advancing to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.

Submitted by an institution's CSC-member athletics communications personnel, nominees for CSC All-District® consideration must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Swim and dive nominees must compete in a minimum of five of the institution's meets or must have finished in the top eight of an individual event at their respective conference meet.

Nielsen is a sophomore biology major with a 3.85 GPA who just completed a second appearance at the NCAA DII swimming and diving championships. She competed in four events at the championship meet in Indianapolis, registering career-best times in all four and setting three school records.

Voted to the First-Team Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, Nielsen finished 20th in the 1,650-yard freestyle at nationals, posting a Western-record time of 17 minutes, 10.82 seconds. She set Mountaineer records in the 1,000 free (26th place, 10:19.85) and 500 free (29th, 4:59.23) and recorded her career-best time in the 200 free (41st, 1:53.51) at the championship.

Lambert is a junior majoring in environment and sustainability with a 3.97 GPA and was voted to the 2024-25 and 2023-24 first-team RMAC all-academic teams.

She earned second-team All-RMAC recognition as part of Western's fourth-place 200-yard medley and 400 freestyle relays at the 2025 RMAC championship meet.

She achieved an NCAA provisional B cut in the preliminary heats of the 200 freestyle at the RMAC meet, posting a time of 1:52.41. She would go on to place 14th in the event during the championship finals session.

Lambert also swam to an eighth-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:06.53), an 11th-place finish in the 100 free (52.92), and finished 19th in the 500 free (5:11.33).

In addition to anchoring the 200 medley and 400 free relays, she also anchored Western's fifth-place 400 medley relay.

A senior majoring in elementary education with a 3.90 GPA, Caudle has earned inclusion on the 2024-25 and 2023-24 RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

She earned a spot on the podium at the RMAC swimming and diving championships with her fifth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke, touching the pads in a personal best time of 1:04.38. She doubled up on individual podium appearances with a fifth place in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.10), and was also part of the fourth-place 200 medley relay squad and the fifth-place 400 medley relay team.

Caudle also earned points at the RMAC meet for Western with personal bests in the 200 individual medley (22nd, 2:13.73) and the 400 individual medley (17th, 4:47.83).

Del Rosario was also on the 2024-25 RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll after the sophomore posted a 3.97 GPA in exercise & sports science.

She swam to a career-best time of 5:18.19 to place 22nd in the 500 free at the RMAC meet, and hit season best times in the 1,000 free (19th, 10:58.34), 1,650 free (18th, 18:49.56) and 400 IM (11th, 4:41.61). Del Rosario also anchored Western's fifth-place 200 free relay.
