INDIANAPOLIS  Morgan Nielsen continued her successful appearance at the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Indiana University Natatorium, setting a new school record in Friday morning's preliminary heats of the women's 500-yard freestyle.

Nielsen finished in a career-best time of 4 minutes, 59.23 seconds for a 29th-place finish in the event. It was her first time under the 5-minute mark.

Already at the championship meet, Nielsen has set a school record in the 1,000 free on Wednesday, and posted a lifetime best Thursday in the 200 free.

Western's record holder in the 1,650 free, Nielsen will have to chance to break that record on Saturday morning in her timed final heat.
