INDIANAPOLIS  Morgan Nielsen broke her own school record in the 1,000-yard freestyle Wednesday at the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Indiana University Natatorium.

Swimming in the morning session of the timed final event, Nielsen finished in a time of 10 minutes, 19.85 seconds, besting her previous lifetime best time (10:22.95) she had swum on February 12 at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship meet.

Nielsen's record swim placed 26th in the event.

Her national championship continues Thursday morning with the preliminary heats of the 200 freestyle.

Friday's event schedule sees Nielsen seeded 25th in the 500 freestyle, and her championship concludes Saturday on the meet's final day with the 1,650 freestyle in which she is seeded 16th – two events she is the current Western Colorado record holder.
