INDIANAPOLISÂ Western Colorado divers
Chloe Brown and
Alexandra Wallis put the finishing touches on their 2024-25 seasons on Tuesday, competing in the NCAA Division II Diving Qualification Meet at Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of the University of Indianapolis.
The duo earned inclusion in the meet by surpassing the scoring standards on both the 1- and 3-meter boards during the season. At the qualifying meet, the top 22 divers advance to compete in the DII national championship meet that began Tuesday with swimming's 800-yard freestyle relay and continues through Saturday when the DII men's and women's team champions will be crowned.
Brown and Wallis opened the qualifying meet with their 6-dive optionals list on the 1-meter board. Brown would post a score of 178.80 points to finish in 37th place, while Wallis would earn a score of 175.50 to finish one spot behind, in 38th place.
After a break for the 800 free relays and their award ceremonies, Brown and Wallis were back up on the boards, this time in the 3-meter qualifier.
Brown's 186.45 points would score a 34th-place finish and Wallis would end up in 42nd place with a score of 173.80.
The DII championship meet's individual swimming events begin with a preliminaries session Wednesday at 8 a.m. MT, a session that includes Western Colorado's
Morgan Nielsen in the 1,000 freestyle.
