Nielsen Heading Back to NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS  The NCAA on Wednesday afternoon released the list of swimming qualifiers for the 2025 Division II Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships that run from Mach 11-15, a prestigious list that includes — for the second time — Western Colorado's Morgan Nielsen.

The sophomore will swim the same three events in which she participated in last year, this year seeded 16th in the 1,650-yard freestyle and 25th in both the 1,000- and 500-yard freestyle events. Nielsen also earned an NCAA provisional time in the 200 freestyle, which she will get to swim as an optional event at the championship meet.

Nielsen set the school record in the 500 free at the 2024 NCAA meet, finishing in a time of 5 minutes, 4.38 seconds.

The 1,000 free prelims are scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, the 200 free prelims on Thursday, the 500 free prelims on Friday, and the 1,650 timed finals on Saturday.

Also traveling to the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of IU Indianapolis will be divers Chloe Brown and Alexandra Wallis.

Brown and Wallis will participate in the DII Diving Qualification Meet on March 11. The duo will compete on both the 1- and 3-meter boards with the top 22 scores from the Qualification Meet advancing to the national championship meet.

Women's 1-meter diving prelims are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, March 12, and the 3-meter prelims will be on Friday, March 14.
