Nash Voted D2CCA Offensive Player of Year

GOLDEN, Colo.  The NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) on Thursday released it 2025 D2CCA All-Super Region 4 Football Team, naming Western Colorado's Drew Nash it's Offensive Player of the Year and first-team quarterback.

Nash earlier in the postseason was voted the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's offensive player of the year and first-team quarterback, and on Dec. 3 was named a finalist for the Harlon Hill Award that is presented to the DII football player of the year.

Joining Nash on the all-region team are defensive end Ricky Freymond and inside linebacker Ian Loomis who were voted onto the second-team defense.

Nash, who set a program record for career touchdown passes (77) during the 2025 campaign, led the RMAC in passing touchdowns (33), total offense (291.6 yards per game), points responsible for (264) and points responsible for per game (22.0).

His total passing yards (2,938) was second most in the RMAC and his 11 rushing touchdowns were third most.

Within national statistical categories, he ranked second in DII in points responsible for per game, third in total points responsible for and in passing touchdowns, and 11th in total offense per game.

As the Region 4 first-team quarterback, Nash will advance onto the D2CCA All-American ballot and to the D2CCA Offensive Player of the Year ballot.

Freymond – the 2024 D2CCA defensive player of the year and 2023 all-region player – and Loomis were both honored with 2025 All-RMAC first-team defensive honors.

Loomis led the Mountaineers in total tackles (108), which was second most in the RMAC, and his 8.2 tackles per game ranked 57th in all of DII. He finished the season with 12.5 tackles for loss, sixth most in the RMAC.

Freymond had 13.0 TFLs, fourth most in the RMAC, including 4.5 sacks. Consistently schemed against, the 2024 consensus All-American still finished the season with 50 tackles.

Nash, Loomis and Freymond helped lead the Mountaineers into the NCAA DII playoffs for the third season in a row, winning their first-round game for the second consecutive postseason, the first two times the Western Colorado program has advanced past the opening round since its NCAA era.
