Freymond Voted AFCA 2nd Team All-American

WACO, Texas  The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) on Wednesday released its 2025 AFCA Division II Coaches' All-America Teams, naming Western Colorado's Ricky Freymond to the second team All-American defense.

Freymond was also a 2024 AFCA All-American and adds this 2025 accolade to several other postseason awards.

Freymond was voted a first-team defensive end on the 2025 All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference team on November 21, and on December 12 was announced as a member of the 2025 RMAC All-Academic first team.

In between those honors, on Dec. 4, it was announced that he had been voted to the second team defense of the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Super Region 4 Team.

Freymond finished the 2025 season with 50 tackles, 13 of which were tackles for loss, which are fourth most in the conference, and is 4.5 sacks this season tied for 10th most in the RMAC

With 29.0 career sacks Freymond is the program's leader in that category, and his 58 career tackles for loss are second most in program history.
