CHADRON STATE HEADING INTO THE GAME | 2025 Stats
The Eagles (7-2, 7-0), dropped the opening two games of the season, including a close 17-3 loss to Division I Northern Colorado, but have since reeled off seven consecutive wins while scoring no fewer than 31 points.
LET'S COMPARE
- In team categories, Western's offense is scoring 39.8 points per game, second most in the RMAC, while Chadron's defense is surrendering 19.2 PPG, third least in the conference.
- On the other side of the coin, Chadron's 31.2 PPG is fifth in the league rankings while the Mountaineer defense is tops in the RMAC, allowing just 14.6 PPG.
- Saturday's game will pit the top two defenses in the league in yards allowed. The Eagles give up only 278 yards each game with Western next in the conference rankings at 299 yards per game allowed.
- Western's passing attack, at 263 YPG, is second in the league, while Chadron's rushing attack, at 190 YPG, is fourth within the conference.
- Interestingly, the Mountaineers' second-ranked passing game will be going against the top-ranked passing defense in Chadron, while the Eagles' fourth-ranked ground attack will be facing the conference's top rush defense.
- Chadron's two-headed rush game is paced by Quincey Ryker and Daytuawn Pearson. Ryker averages 75 YPG with Pearson adding 57 YPG. Ryker has scored five touchdowns on the ground with Pearson scoring once.
- The Western ground game is also paced by two players. It just so happens, though, that after Quinn Bailey's 52 YPG it's quarterback Drew Nash with 50 YPG on the ground. Bailey's hit paydirt seven times with Nash scoring with his feet eight times.
- The pass-catch combo for Chadron has been Aidan Thompson to Tommy Thomas. Thompson averages 157 yards through the air with 18 touchdown passes, and Thomas has caught 12 of those touchdown passes while averaging 83 YPG receiving.
- For the Mountaineers it's Nash and Caden Measner leading the passing attack. Nash averages 252 yards through the air and has thrown for 23 touchdowns, while Measner has come away with 8 touchdown catches while averaging 66 yards receiving per game.
- Tackle leaders for the teams are Logan O'Brien with 62 total tackles for the Eagles, and Ian Loomis with 68 for Western. O'Brien's 14.0 tackles for loss edges out the Mountaineers' Drew Johnson (12.0) for the top spot amongst the RMAC's defensive players.
