GREENWOOD, Ind. College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) on Tuesday released its 2025 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer teams, a prestigious list that includes six student-athletes from Western Colorado's Division II program.
Earning honors for the second consecutive year are
Ellie Kubena,
Karly Morkunas and
Natsuki Murakami, while teammate
Sarah Connolly,
Cianna Thomas and
Jordan Welsh earned their initial Academic All-District® honors.
The CSC all-district teams recognize the top student-athletes for their combined performances in the classroom and on the fields of play. The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes honorees in four separate divisions – NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, and the NAIA.
Nominees, submitted by institution's athletic communicators/sports information directors, must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 and be at least a sophomore athletically and academically. Each nominee must have been an on-field contributor and in soccer, must have competed in 90 percent of the team's matches or started in 66 percent of the matches on the schedule.
All six Mountaineers on Nov 12 were named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll, along with 11 teammates.
Murakami, voted a first-team All-RMAC player by the league's coaches, and
Jordan Welsh, an honorable mention All-RMAC player, have been advanced from the all-district team onto the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
The Academic All-America® team will be voted on by CSC members and on Dec. 17 first-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced.
