WESTERN COLORADO HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2025 Stats
  • The Mountaineers are coming off a weekend in which they pulled out a fantastic finish to pull even with Colorado State Pueblo to earn a draw with the host ThunderWolves.
  • The Pack scored the opening goal of the game on and own goal off a Western defender header in the 25th minute, then added what looked to be a clinching goal in the 81st minute.
  • The Mountaineers roared back in the final five minutes, though. An Ellie Kubena long, arcing shot from 40 yards out clanged off the left post, but the carom was collected by Karly Morkunas who chested the ball down to her feet and rocketed a shot off the goalkeeper's gloves and inside the left post to half the deficit at the 85:47 mark.
  • In the dying moments of the final minute, continued pressure it its attacking third provided Western with one last chance on a corner kick. Cianna Thomas inserted a short pass to Jordan Welsh who dribbled along the goal line and into the box where she sent a cross across the face of the goal where Jenna Ralls one-timed the cross into the left side of the frame for the equalizing goal with 27 seconds remaining.
  • The road trip continued two days later with a game at No. 13 UC Colorado Springs. Western played even with the highly-ranked Mountain Lions over first-half action, surrendering only a late goal in the final minutes to head into the halftime break trailing only by a goal.
  • UCCS came out of the break with renewed pressure and would eventually score four more times to put the game away in a strong second half.
  • Natsuki Murakami continues to lead the Mountaineer in scoring with three goals, while five others have found the back of the frame for one goal apiece.
  • Ashlyn Fitzpatrick has seen the most time in goal for Western, making 30 saves across 495 minutes between the pipes.

  • Westminster's two most recent outings have both been 0-0 draws.
  • They've only scored four goals this season, but the Griffins have also only surrendered one goal, and are outshooting their opponents by a margin of 81 to 43.
  • Addie McCallister has two of the team's goals, including the game-winner in WU's 1-0 win over Hawaii Hilo.
  • In goal for all but 39 minutes this season, goalie Marin Mackenzie has been perfect while making 16 saves without allowing a single goal.
  • The Griffins are 7-1-1 all time against Western, including winning the last six meetings.

  • The Mavericks are averaging almost two goals per game (1.88) while surrendering a total of four this season for an average of 0.50 per game.
