- The Mountaineers are coming off a resounding team title at the Colorado College Classic last weekend. Western concluded the first session of the three-day meet with the lead over the host Tigers, then piled on points over the next two day to earn the team title with 1,259.5 points, ahead of Colorado College's 946 runner-up point total.
- Western's LynDea Turner earned the Classic's high-point award, scoring a total of 74 points after winning the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events, finishing second in the 200 and 400 individual medley events, and leading off the winning 200- and 400-medley relays.
- The Mountaineers' dominance at the meet was displayed on the high-point list as Western swimmers earned the first eight spots on the list, along with the 10th-place position.
- Two other Western swimmers coming away with four first-place finishes were Joanna Swiderska and Leah Wagner. Swiderska won the 100 and 200 butterfly events and was on the medley relays with Turner. Wagner won the 200 and 400 IMs and the 200 breaststroke and swam on the winning 200 medley relay.
- Swiderska's 72 points and Wagner's 69 points trailed only Turner on the high-point list.
- The Adams State meet is the final tune-up opportunity for the program as it readies for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship meet in Grand Junction, Colo., on Feb. 11-15.
