GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. In their final game of the season, Western Colorado fell to No. 19 Colorado Mesa 70-57 as Ivey Schmidt scored 25-points for the Mountaineers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Western Colorado could not quiet the Mavericks offensive force which includes Olivia Reed who had 20-points in the first half for Colorado Mesa. As a team the Mavericks out shot the Mountaineers 41% from the field to 32% from the field in the first half while scoring 10 points off turnovers in the first 20 minutes. The Mountaineers biggest scoring run of the night came in the first where they scored five points.
- After being down 37-27 at halftime, the Mountaineers outscored the Mavs 16-15 in the third quarter as Rachel Cockman led the Mountaineers scoring efforts with six points. The Mountaineers defense also held the Mavericks leading scorer, Reed, to just two points in the third. The third quarter also saw the Mountaineers best field goal percentage of 50%.
- Going into the fourth quarter, the Mountaineers were down 52-43 but pushed in the final 10 minutes where they scored 14 points and shot 41% from the field. Schmidt closed out the final quarter with six points in the frame.
- COURT NOTES
- Schmidt's 25-points was a team-high while the Mavericks Olivia Reed recorded a game-high 30 points. Schmidt went 10-for-19 from the field, while going 2-for-4 from 3-point range.
- Cockman was the only other Western Colorado player to score in double figures as the junior registered 10 points. Alyssa Eckroth was one-point shy of a double-digit game, collecting nine points in the contest.
- The dup of Schmidt and Cockman also led the Mountaineers in rebounds as Schmidt had seven and Cockman tallied six boards. Schmidt, Brooklyn Seymour, Erika Lane and Jayda Maves all registered a steal for the Mountaineers as Cockman collected four blocked shots in the game.
