Murakami Earns 2nd-team All-RMAC

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Tuesday morning released its 2024 Women's Soccer All-RMAC Team, with Western Colorado's Natsuki Murakami earning a spot on the second team while teammates Taylor Bottoms and Aubree Orosco earned inclusion on the Honorable Mention list.

Nominations and voting for the all-conference team is completed by the league's coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes during the voting process.

Murakami – named to the first team RMAC All-Academic Team on Mond – led Western's attack with three goals and two assists for a season total of eight points.

Bottoms was a strong midfielder for Western, aiding the transition through the midfield into the attacking third. She picked up an assist early in the season against host West Texas A&M.

Orosco's 124 saves this season were the most by an RMAC goalkeeper. Her 13saves in a win over University of Colorado Colorado Springs was a career high and she recorded double-digit saves in two other games after that career game.

Colorado School of Mines' Reese McDermott and Bella Campos were the RMAC Co-Players of the Year, with teammate Ava Harman voted the Defensive Player of the Year.

Colorado Mesa University's Keely Wieczorek was voted the Goalkeeper of the Year, UCCS's Malia Groshong the Freshman of the Year, and Mines' Kevin Fickes the Coach of the Year.
